Where will you be 4th of July Weekend?!?!

Come one! Come All!

It's Fourth of July Weekend and Paula is delighted to host the festivities upstate in Middleburgh

Bring your family and bring your talent because we're reviving "Showtime" and EVERYONE must participate!!!!

If you have food or dietary restrictions please indicate that. We will try to accommodate with atleast one item you can eat!

There will be a mix of the old traditions and we will make some new
traditions.

Do YOU remember Showtime?!?

Maybe you hid when the clamorings of showtime came around. Maybe you ran to the front to be the first to participate. Maybe you're under 15 and the only showtime you know is the TV channel on cable. Whatever your feeling about showtime maybe...we're bringing it back NEW and IMPROVED. So please dust off that violin, break out your dancing shoes, uncover your poetry and start singing in the shower. DO WHAT YOU MUST! :) But Showtime is back! And for you older cousins...be a good sport, let's show the younger ones what it's all about.

But the country is so BOOOOring!!!

Not anymore kiddies! Cousin Stephanie is prepped for FUN...We can pack this afternoon full of fun and games. What kind of games you say? Any kind you like. Board Games? got 'em! Card Games? yup those too. Field Games? you name it I got it: Tug o' war, Capture the flag, kickball... "oh but those are booring too!!" Well if you have a better idea, BRING IT ON!!!! :-) the family that plays together, stays together and We need to work on staying together.

What's this "Country" and will I like it?
This is really for the younger generation...**Close your eyes** Imagine you're on a school trip and they take you to a farm. What do you see Barns, lots of Cows and trees and open land. What's that smell... ewww cow poop! You look down at your phone to send a text message and **roaming** NO SERVICE!! (ARGHHH what kind of place is this?!?) **Open you eyes** Well you're in luck, the country is none of those things I just described. Whewwww thank God! With the exception of Open land. There is plenty of open space to roam, fresh air to breathe and a bug or two to annoy you. There are no Lions, Tigers, an occasional Bear...just kidding! (As you can see webmaster is the family Jokester)

Keeping that in mind please dress appropriately. "what does that mean" you say? That means OLD jeans, OLD sneakers, OLD shirts (catch my drift?). Don't be cute. Bring bug spray and sunblock (Black people burn, even you light skinned folk!) Trust me there's no one to impress and you'll feel out of place all dressed up (or risk the chance of making people feel under-dressed). More importantly you'll miss out on all the fun activities by not wanting to get your precious sneakers getting dirty.

I think I might have covered it all. I'm looking for ideas for the next blog posting! Please email me if you have something you'd like posted.

If you need directions or have any additional questions please do not hesitate to get in contact with Stephanie via email

I hope all will be able to attend. Please remember your Confirmations and Regrets!!!!

Did anyone lose a bracelet? Family updates

Hey all,

Auntie Jill has asked me to ask if anyone has lost a gold bracelet when they were at the apartment last month. It's Gold. If you have found that you are indeed missing a bracelet. Please contact me and I'll get you in touch with Auntie Jill.

Is anyone interested in spending Fourth of July upstate? Some family members have expressed interest in seeing the family again together like we used to do. If you are interested please leave a comment stating that you're interested and possible activities you'd like to do.

Lastly I have a little bit of a personal update...

Family Showcase: Nile's Ballet Recital

On Saturday, May 15, 2010 Miss Nile Lael performed in her 1st Ballet performance with the North Carolina Dance Project. This was the annual dance showcase for the company. At the insistence of her Gran (Lael), Miss Nile started ballet lessons in February. Nile was supposed to perform a duet with her partner however her partner never showed up. Nile was nervous and had a bit of stage fright. But in true Johnson fashion, Nile performed beautifully and stole the show. She performed to Autumn, from Vivaldi's Four Seasons! Please enjoy some pictures below.

This is Nile and her dance partner.

Miss Nile's first Solo

Bravo Miss Nile! I wish you continued success in your dancing endeavors. Please keep the family posted on your events. A big thanks to Lael for helping me put this together.

Heaven's got Style...

On April 23, 2010 Our beloved Patriarch after several years of illness peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior. Wiley Namar Simmons aka Uncle Namar (to most) was a man full of knowledge, charisma and style.

Although his passing came as a shock to the entire family On May 1st it united us in a way like no other! Family came from far and wide. I saw family that I hadn't seen in probably 20 years! (and you all know I'm not that old)

THIS IS THE JOHNSON FAMILY

After the funeral the family took some much needed time to catch up with each other. We walked down to central park and just chatted about life. It's great watching the babies like Nile, Nya and Ruthie mature into young women.

Later on that evening we celebrated Shelley's Birthday...

My wish is to see the family more often...let's not let a funeral be the thing to get us together again.

Until next time
-Steph
